The Brood Awakening Jam Session returns to The Rabbit Box on Sunday, March 22nd with special guest Jay Thomas.
Brood Awakening is a community-driven jam session created to bring together musicians of all ages and experience levels, with a special focus on helping young players develop their skills by performing alongside seasoned professionals. Each month features a different guest artist from the Pacific Northwest jazz community.
For this session, we are honored to feature Jay Thomas—one of the most respected musicians in the Seattle jazz scene. Known for his powerful trumpet playing, soulful saxophone work, and charismatic stage presence, Jay has been a cornerstone of Northwest jazz for decades, performing with artists ranging from Ray Charles to Cedar Walton and appearing at major festivals around the world.
Whether you're a musician who wants to sit in or a listener who loves live jazz, this is a welcoming environment where great music and mentorship come together.
